HOUSTON — Houston Fire Department arson investigators and Houston police homicide detectives are investigating a fire in the Briarbend subdivision that left one person dead.
Authorities responded to a home on Wickersham Lane off Stoney Brook just north of Westheimer Road after a pickup truck caught fire in a driveway early Wednesday. The flames spread quickly to a second vehicle, the home, and its garage.
While putting out the fire, emergency crews discovered a body inside one of the burned trucks, fire officials said.
The identity of the victim and the cause of the fire remain under investigation
No additional details were immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
