Baytown police arrest suspect in fatal gas station shooting

Baytown police have arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting at a gas station.
The suspect in this case has no regards for a human life as he shot Flowers in cold blood in a public place where several people were located. Detectives have identified a person of interest as (25) year old Walter Pickering of Baytown

BAYTOWN, Texas -- Baytown police have arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting at a gas station.

It happened Friday at 12:12 a.m. at the Valero on North Alexander, according to the Baytown Police Department.

The department said 32-year-old Glen Flowers died at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the shooter got into a verbal altercation with a woman outside the gas station. The man then turned and shot Flowers for no apparent reason.

The suspect fled in a gray or silver Chevrolet pickup truck, but witnesses managed to get the vehicle's license plate number.

Police later identified the suspect as 25-year-old Walter Pickering.

Police said Pickering is the registered owner of the pickup and was considered armed and dangerous.

"The suspect in this case has no regards for a human life as he shot Flowers in cold blood in a public place where several people were located," police said in a press release.
