TOMBALL, Texas — A couple of guys stole an ATM machine in Tomball early Wednesday but they didn't get far, according to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's Office.

It happened just after 4 a.m. at N. Eldridge Parkway and Spring Cypress Road.

The thieves hooked the Wells Fargo ATM to the back of their pickup and drove off with it, Pct. 4 said.

Deputies who responded to the scene spotted the truck less than a minute later. That's when both suspects jumped out and took off on foot.

One guy was quickly captured and arrested in a nearby residential area. According to Pct. 4, he had two open warrants, including one for aggravated robbery. Now, he'll be charged with second-degree felony theft from an ATM machine.

The other man got away.
