HOUSTON — 1/4/2023 update: Jalon Whitely, 21, was arrested on Jan. 3 and charged with murder in this case. Two other suspects are on the loose.
A 25-year-old man was shot and killed Monday at an apartment complex in northwest Houston, according to police.
The Houston Police Department said it happened just after noon at a complex along West Montgomery Road near West Gulf Bank Road.
HPD said the victim, later identified as 25-year-old Jonte Grant, was found between buildings. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
No suspect description has been revealed and police said there are no known witnesses or motive in the shooting.
