HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of her teenage boyfriend.
The alleged shooting happened just after 3 a.m. Tuesday in the 16900 block of Jenikay Lane.
Homicide investigators said Anabel Lopez originally told them her boyfriend, 17-year-old Oscar Alvarado, accidentally shot himself. Investigators said Lopez later admitted she was playing with the gun when it went off. The bullet hit Alvarado in one shoulder and exited the other shoulder, killing Alvarado., according to deputies.
Lopez remains in the Harris County Jail.
