BAYTOWN, Texas – One man is dead, and another injured after a shooting in east Harris County, in a neighborhood where people say they're living in fear.
Deputies were called out around 6 p.m. Thursday to a reported shooting on Jones Road near Thompson Road.
They say a man was on his way to visit his grandmother but was shot when he got there. He was taken to the hospital by Life Flight.
Another man was also found dead on the scene. One woman who says she's lived in the neighborhood all her life claims the area has had a problem with drugs for years.
"My grandkids, they're in Fort Worth, and they won't even go outside," Thelma Johnson, a homeowner, said.
She says Harris County deputies have tried to clean up the area before, but says more needs to be done.
