HOUSTON – The 48th Annual Fiestas Patrias International Parade celebrating Latino heritage and culture marched through the streets in downtown Houston on Saturday.
The parade began at 10 a.m. at Texas Street and Hamilton near Minute Maid Park.

The Fiestas Patrias International Parade is one of many celebratory events scheduled during the months of Sept. and Oct. in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. On Friday, Sept. 16, Mexico marked its 206th anniversary of its independence from Spain.
