Rapper Flo Rida's league donates uniforms to Friendswood youth football league

A Friendswood youth football league is getting new uniforms thanks to the generosity of a group in Florida.

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas - A Friendswood youth football league is getting new uniforms thanks to the generosity of a group in Florida.

The BeastMode Youth Football President says the Florida Youth Football League, which is sponsored by rapper Flo Rida, saw the report online and is donating 120 uniforms to the local teams.

BeastMode says it is out $12,000 after paying a company near Atlanta to design uniforms for the league, but so far the uniforms have not turned up.

The teams placed the order back in June.

“It’s not like we placed our orders late. We paid for them in June,” said Jesse Shelton, Vice President of BeastMode Youth Football and Cheer. “It seemed positive the whole time up until this week.”

Shelton said he got a bad feeling when he checked on the status of a so-called tracking number given by the company’s owner.

“Called FedEx. They said, hey, we have no record of those numbers. Those are not valid numbers,” explained Shelton.

The league is still battling the Georgia company but says the donations from Florida will arrive in time for their first game.

The teams were planning on using homemade uniforms in the meantime.
