HOUSTON — If you would like to become a volunteer with Texas Equusearch, the easiest way is to register online.
To become a volunteer, you must be over 18 with no past felony convictions.
There is a $25 annual fee which covers things like your background check, your Equusearch t-shirt and their infrastructure.
Once you go through online orientation, there are various levels of training you can do – depending on how much time you are able to put in.
The minimum training you can get is to become a member of their "boots on the ground" team for traditional searches.
But they can also train you for mountain searches, water searches, the use of drones and sonar technology.
Their next large-scale training day for new members is on June 1, 2019.
