Video from Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay's DUI arrest in March was released today by the city of Carmel, Ind.
The video includes footage of the March 16 arrest from the dash cam of the Carmel police officer who stopped Irsay, 55. The officer said he saw Irsay driving erratically near Horseferry Road and Main Street in Carmel.
According to case documents obtained by The Indianapolis Star, Irsay was unsteady during the arrest and had trouble standing. Two officers "continuously had to support Irsay in order to prevent him from falling over," the report said.
Carmel officers who searched Irsay's vehicle said they "recovered numerous prescription medication bottles containing pills," along with $29,029 in cash.
Irsay pleaded guilty to one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. He also admitted to having hydrocodone, oxycodone and alprazolam (Xanax) in his system.
In September, a Hamilton County judge sentenced Irsay to one year of probation, during which he may not consume or possess alcohol, and his driver's license was revoked for one year and 40 days.
The NFL also suspended Irsay for six games and fined him $500,000. The six-game suspension, which also prevented Irsay from using social media or doing interviews, ended Oct. 10.
After his arrest, Irsay sought treatment in rehabilitation centers. During that time, his oldest daughter, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, 33, took daily control of the Colts.
Irsay has previously spoken of chronic pain in his hip and lower back and admitted his addiction to painkillers. He was treated in 2002 for drug addiction.
During an interview with The Indianpolis Star this week, Irsay said he would not comment on his legal issues but said he accepted his suspension.
