Cardi B fan says she was ripped off when buying tickets

The woman says she paid over $300 for $20 seats to the Cardi B concert.

HOUSTON — Cardi B was set to wow the audience with her unique sound two nights after Brooks & Dunn kept it country on the RodeoHouston main stage.

“I mean, I feel scammed completely,” said fan Dedra Mills. She was planning to go to the concert, but she wasn’t going to sit where she thought she would have to.

She told us she Googled “rodeo tickets” and “Cardi B” and clicked the first link that came up.

“It didn’t have a listing on the seats,” said Mills. “They had like a picture where I could choose, you know, visually, from which section I’d like to sit in.”

The tickets that later arrived by mail are in one of NRG Stadium’s highest sections with a face value of $20.

“And my total came out to $309 plus a $19 ticket insurance fee,” said Mills.

RodeoHouston President Joel Cowley said ticket issues crop up every year.

“But I think your best bet is to go to Flash Seats or the Rodeo Houston Marketplace,” said Cowley. “Because that’s operated by Axis, our ticketing system. And they’re the only tickets that you can be certain are guaranteed valid for entry.”

He said avoid tickets that are printed from a PDF and easily duplicated.

Because the first one into the venue wins.

“I do still intend to go,” said Mills. “But I do feel ripped off.”

The company Mills said sent her the tickets is based in Chicago.
