HOUSTON An 18-year-old member of the Texas Army National Guard accused of killing a Katy teenager was being held in the Harris County Jail on $500,000 bond Thursday evening.
Alexander Samuel Olivieri, who attended Raines High School with the victim, was arrested without incident at his home early Thursday morning and charged with murder, investigators said.
The body of 17-year-old Bridgett Frisbie was found Sunday in a wooded area near her home.
Investigators said she d been shot at leastonce in the head.
Frisbie s father said Olivieri was a friend of Bridgett s who d been to their house before.
He seemed a little different but not outside the bell curve, you know. He just seemed ... OK. I never suspected him. No indication to me that anything like this would ever come about, Bob Frisbie said.
I m very glad they caught him. I m glad he s off the street, because based on the information detectives have shared with me, he s a danger to the community, Frisbie added.
KHOU 11 News also spoke with Olivieri s family Thursday. They said they were heartbroken and didn t want to comment.
Bridgett Frisbie s body was found Sunday afternoon in the 22800 block of Williamschase Drive by a group of boys riding four-wheelers.
She was lying in the fetal position, and investigators didn t find any ID or a cell phone at the scene.
They later identified her through her fingerprints, which were on record from when she applied for her driver s license.
She s just a stunning young woman and I m shocked, said the teen s father. She had such a bright future. She had so many things she was looking forward to.
Residents said they heard screams and gunfire the night the teen was killed.
A few of the residents in this neighborhood heard a bunch of screaming and a bullet and a shot, but besides that I didn t hear anything, said neighbor Jake Brisendine.
Neighbors also said the area where Frisbie s body was found is known for inappropriate activities.
There s fights, people smoke a lot of stuff. There s fires, happen every year, every couple of months, said Dalton Wilson.
Frisbie s father and her friend, Zacarias Richards, saidBridgett snuck out of her home early Sunday morning and left on her dirt bike.
She ran out of gas on the dirt bike, said Richards. There was a car following her, it wouldn t stop following her.
Richards said, at one point, he believes Frisbie went home, but doesn t know how she ended up in the woods.
I couldn t see why someone would want to kill her, he said. I don t know what kind of motive someone would have to kill an innocent girl.
Students at Raines said they were shocked by the crime and the arrest.
Everybody s pretty freaked, really uneasy. Like, whoa! They didn t expect that, student Brenda Benitez said.
He was always the quiet kid. Nobody really knew him. He only had close friends, student Juan Gomez said.
Police said a 55-year-old woman was also arrested at Olivieri s home on an unrelated marijuana charge Thursday morning.
Angelica Olivieri has since posted bond.
Frisbie s family said funeral services for Bridgett will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home.
The family asked that those who come to the service wear T-shirts and jeans, because they want Bridgett s friends to feel comfortable attending.
