BAYTOWN, Texas A Baytown teen was jailed Wednesday, accused of raping a 12-year-old acquaintance and his 15-year-old girlfriend.
Shawn Holcomb, 18, is charged with super aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault of a child.
Police said they started investigating Holcomb after the 12-year-old victim and a family friend reported that she d been sexually assaulted.
The girl told police she was at a fishing pier at her apartment complex on Ward Road in Baytown in August when Holcomb choked and raped her.
The girl said Holcomb had been making sexual advances on her for several weeks prior to the attack.
When she told the family friend, he said he confronted Holcomb. The friend said Holcomb admitted to having sex with the girl, but said she had wanted it. When the friend noted that the girl was just 12 years old, he said Holcomb didn t seem to care.
While investigating that case, police were informed about another incident involving Holcomb and his former girlfriend.
The 15-year-old girlfriend, who said she was no longer dating the suspect, told police she was raped on multiple occasions by Holcomb. She said in one incident, Holcomb threw her against a refrigerator. She said Holcomb would choke her and threaten her during the assaults, even though she was crying and telling him no.
Police said when they interviewed Holcomb about the 12-year-old girl, he denied having any sexual contact with her. But investigators swabbed his cheek, and they said DNA from those cells matched DNA that was extracted from the 12-year-old s clothing.
Holcomb has since been arrested. He was being held at the Harris County Jail on $200,000 bond.
