HOUSTON -- State prison officials say two inmates, one a convicted murderer, have cut through a fence and fled on foot from a prison in southwest Texas.
Spokesman Jason Clark says 21-year-old Jose Bustos-Diaz and 27-year-old Octavio Ramos Lopez were last seen early Tuesday. Clark says the two escaped from the Briscoe Unit in Dilley, Texas, about 75 miles southwest of San Antonio.
Clark says Bustos-Diaz is serving a 35-year sentence for a Harris County murder. He says Lopez is serving 20 years on kidnapping and drug convictions.
