1 dead, 1 injured after shooting at downtown Houston nightclub

Investigators are searching for a suspect who opened fire on a group of nightclub patrons, killing one and injuring another early Friday morning.

HOUSTON Investigators are searching for suspects who opened fire on a group of nightclub patrons, killing one and injuring another early Friday morning.

Police said a fight broke out at the Plush club on Milam Street near downtown Houston around 2:30 a.m. Police believe someone fired shots at that time, but no one was injured.

A group of partygoers were then gathered around 3 a.m. near the intersection of Smith and Dennis when someone began shooting into the crowd, hitting two men. One of the men, Oscar Fierro, was struck in the back and later died at Ben Taub. Another man was shot in the arm and also taken to Ben Taub, where he remained in stable condition Friday.

Investigators said the two male suspects were driving a Ford F-150 with a crew cab and tinted windows.

Witnesses said the shooting may have been in retaliation for the earlier fight. Homicide is investigating.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
