HOUSTON — Infant formula sold at H-E-B and CVS stores in Texas and several other states is being recalled, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Perrigo Company issued a voluntary recall of Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder due to high levels of vitamin D found during routine testing.
According to Perrigo, there have been no reports of adverse events attributed to the elevated levels of vitamin D. The company said vulnerable infants with impaired renal function or other health issues would be more likely to have complications than healthy babies.
If infants experience any symptoms while using the product, contact your healthcare provider and report them to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online at www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm.
Other parents and caregivers who have purchased the products listed below should stop using them and contact their healthcare provider if they have concerns.
