HOUSTON — Knowing who to call for help can be confusing and overwhelming, but there are several contacts that are good places to start after disasters:
- 311 – Is the place to call for city of Houston services, like street hazards or out traffic lights.
- There’s also 211. It’s the United Way’s line for disasters. You can get information on shelters, assistance and any other questions.
- CenterPoint says to report downed powerlines to 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143.
- ReadyHarris.org – If you’re a Harris County who has damage, it’s a good idea to report it here and the site lists additional resources.
- There’s also a number to call if you are a Harris County resident who needs help with cleanup – it’s 832-509-2977.
