Consumer news to start your week

Fisher-Price re-announces a recall, LinkedIn reports record resurgence and how DoorDash can help you run errands.

HOUSTON — It’s not every day that you hear a company re-announcing a recall but that’s what Fisher-Price is doing.

The original recall of the Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play was in 2019. At the time of the original recall, more than 30 fatalities were reported after infants had rolled from their backs to their stomachs or side while unrestrained.

The company is announcing the recall again after an additional 70 fatalities due to the same issue.

The Rock 'n Play Sleeper was sold at major stores nationwide including Walmart, Target, and online at Amazon from September 2009 through April 2019.

Consumers should stop using Rock ‘n Play immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher.

LinkedIn resurgence

LinkedIn said it is seeing a resurgence due in large part to layoffs and new job seekers.

Last year, the LinkedIn mobile app was downloaded 58 million times. That number was up 10% from the previous year, according to research firm Sensor Tower.

LinkedIn reports that it has seen record engagement among its 875 million members.

DoorDash returning gifts

If you have unwanted gifts you need to ship back, DoorDash is coming to the rescue.

The food delivery company has launched a service that will pick up any packages you want to mail and deliver them to UPS, the United States Postal Service or FedEx.

The fee is $5 flat for up to five packages. That fee drops to $3 for Dash Pass members.
