CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — When a metro Atlanta homeowner finally found the perfect tool shed for his backyard, he wasted no time in spending thousands for it. However, that was just the start of a frustrating shopping experience.
Finally reaching a dead-end, Warren Kale contacted the 11Alive Help Desk.
For Kale, the tool shed he found in the Home Depot parking lot was perfect.
“This was one exactly like the one I wanted in Cartersville at Home Depot,” Kale said. “I went there on September 9 to make that purchase. Total bill was $9,058.03 so I used my debit card,” he said.
But days later, when Kale had not heard back from Home Depot about the shed or his money, he went to the store to ask questions.
“They said there was a glitch in the computer, that my money had gone somewhere but they didn’t know where,” he said.
With no shed, Kale’s key worry was getting a refund. So, he went to his bank right away. But after 52 days, he finally lost his patience. That’s when Kale reached out to our 11Alive Help Desk.
“When I talked to you, things started happening,” Kale said.

11Alive contacted the corporate offices of Home Depot and Ameris Bank, with the bank in the end refunding the full $9,058.03 into Kale’s account.
But it didn’t take long for Kale to spend it: He went back to Home Depot, bought the Tool Shed, and it’s now where it should have been two months ago-- fully assembled in Kale’s back yard.
