If you're interested in the new Lincoln Continental -- one of the year's most important automotive introductions -- expect to pay anywhere from $45,485 to $69,105 for the privilege of being the first on your block to own one.
Lincoln released pricing that shows four different trim levels, from the low-end Premiere to the highest-end Black Label, and a list of options.
So, for instance, if you buy the fanciest $69,105 Black Label version of the Continental, including destination fees, and want a sunroof, add $1,750. For 30-way seats, tack on $1,500. Or the 400-horsepower 3-liter V-6 engine with all-wheel-drive, the addition is $3,265.
Continental will compete in the full-size luxury segment where plush features can make a difference with buyers. That 400-horsepower engine, giant sunroof and a 19-speaker sound system could make a difference.
The car will be built in Michigan, but Ford hopes it will appeal to buyers in China, one of the world's biggest markets for luxury cars.
Besides the 400-horsepower engine, there's also the base 300-horsepower base 3.7-liter V-6 and the 335-horsepower, 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged engine V-6. In China, the base engine is a 2-liter twin-turbo.
The car is being aimed at competition like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series, Cadillac CT6, Audi A6 and Lexus GS.
