HOUSTON — Continuum Powders has officially opened its new global headquarters and eco-friendly production facility in Houston.

According to a news release, the site, North America’s largest sustainable metal powder production facility, represents a "significant leap in low-carbon manufacturing" and aims to set "a new standard for environmental responsibility in advanced manufacturing."

Continuum developed the Greyhound M2P (Melt-to-Powder) Platform, a patented process that efficiently recycles alloyed metal waste into powder in a single step, following a cradle-to-cradle approach.

The Houston facility is designed as a green manufacturing center that features net-zero carbon energy partnerships and low-emission gas systems. With these practices, the site hopes to achieve the lowest carbon footprint of any metal powder production facility worldwide.

The company is also trying to get a green certification to further "solidify its sustainability credentials."

“Our new Houston facility not only expands our production capabilities but also scales our mission of decarbonizing the manufacturing industry,” said Rob Higby, CEO of Continuum Powders. “We are committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective metal powders while minimizing environmental impact.”

The expansion increases production capacity to serve industries like aerospace, automotive, defense and energy. It also enhances supply chain efficiency by reducing shipping costs and delivery times.

The new site will also provide economic benefits to the Houston area by creating jobs and fostering local partnerships.

“This facility is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence,” said Rizk Ghafari, COO of Continuum Powders. “We’re setting a new benchmark for responsible manufacturing.”

Continuum Powders is backed by Ara Partners, a private equity firm focused on decarbonizing industrial practices.

“The Houston facility is a critical step in advancing sustainable solutions for the industrial economy,” said Cory Steffek, Partner at Ara Partners.
