INDIANAPOLIS — Angie’s List has opened its reviews to users free of charge.

The Indianapolis-based company, which has more than 10 million online reviews for home improvement services available, also announced it is adding two premium memberships to its offerings.

According to a release distributed by the company, the following levels of service will be offered:

Green:Free access to companies in more than 700 service categories and free access to reviews and ratings.

Silver: A fee-based service that allows consumers access to a guaranteed fair price and quality of service. Angie’s List has promised that if a service isn’t satisfactory, it either will make it good or reimburse customers up to $100,000. It also pledged to pay customers the difference on goods purchased within 30 days if they find a better deal.

Gold: A fee-based service that includes a complaint resolution process and customer support.

The maneuvers are designed to keep Angie’s List competitive against companies such as Amazon. The company recorded its first year of profitability in 2015, but its fourth-quarter earnings were disappointing to Wall Street.

“This is a transformative moment for the new Angie’s List as we welcome more consumers into our community so they can experience the industry-leading value and unique services that we provide,” Angie’s List President and CEO Scott Durchslag said at a launch event in New York. “Now with our new offerings, the 10 to 12 million visitors coming to our site each month looking for help with their home will be able to more easily find the best local service providers.”
