HOUSTON — Japanese retailer UNIQLO is making its debut in Texas with two locations opening in the Houston area.
Memorial City Mall will be home to the area's first UNIQLO location-- opening on Friday, Oct. 11.
The Houston area's next location comes only a week after on Friday, Oct. 18 at First Colony Mall in Sugar Land.
Both grand openings will feature exclusive promotions, giveaways and special customer experiences, according to UNIQLO.
UNIQLO offers everyday clothing items with "the Japanese values of simplicity, quality and longevity, featuring universal designs, supreme fit, and comfort to improve the daily lives of its customers."
Each store will engage with the local community through partnerships with nonprofit organizations such as Harmony, House Inc.
Houston-based nonprofit Harmony House, Inc. serves low-income individuals at risk of homelessness as well as homeless individuals by providing permanent and transitional housing, access to primary health care and more, according to its website.
“UNIQLO is excited to open five new stores across Texas, an expansion that highlights our dedication to bringing our high-quality, innovative LifeWear and exceptional retail experience to customers all throughout the Lone Star State,” Yoshihide Shindo, CEO of UNIQLO USA said in a news release.
UNIQLO will also open three stores in North Texas at Galleria Dallas, The Parks Mall and the Stonebriar Centre in October.
The company said Texas and California leads the brand's investment in brick-and-mortal retail.
