Wreaths Across America Houston: Ongoing construction could impact parking

Organizers say ongoing construction at the cemetery may cause travel patterns on the roadways to change.

HOUSTON — Wreaths Across America Houston's annual wreath-laying ceremony will take place tomorrow at the Houston National Cemetery.

Organizers say ongoing construction at the cemetery may cause travel patterns on the roadways to change. They say the best place to park is at the Greenspoint Mall, where you can take a free shuttle to the cemetery, as parking at the cemetery is usually full by 9 a.m.

After the ceremony, buses will be available to transport people back to the mall.

Here's a breakdown of the ceremony's timing:

  • At 7:30 a.m., the bus and shuttle services will start.
  • At 8 a.m., the motorcycle escort and trucks will arrive.
  • At 11 a.m., the ceremony will begin.
  • At 11:45 a.m., the wreath laying will start.
  • At 2:30 p.m., shuttle and bus services will stop.

The event will be hosted by KHOU 11's Len Cannon.

Organizers ask that you dress for the weather and be respectful of the people around you. You are welcome to bring your own chairs.
