'We're so happy' | Couple gets engaged in the middle of Houston's H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade

"I had no idea at all," Maddy said. "I thought you just wanted to take a picture with the pig (balloon)."

HOUSTON — In the midst of floats and balloons in downtown Houston during the H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade, one magical moment stood out.

Between floats, Andrew Alexander and Maddy Ekstrom were pushed out into the parade route.

"I had no idea at all," Maddy said. "I thought you just wanted to take a picture with the pig (balloon)."

Andrew got down on one knee, dressed head to toe as a turkey, and asked Maddy to marry him. In the video, Maddy can be seen excitedly saying yes as the crowd gathered for the parade cheered them on.

"We're so happy," the two said.
