DALLAS — Whataburger is celebrating its 74th birthday on Thursday, Aug. 8 by giving away free birthday shakes.
The birthday shake is obviously birthday cake flavored with a vanilla base. For a Whataburger twist, the shake will be colored bright orange with orange sprinkles on top to match the burger chain's brand colors, according to a press release from Whataurger.
Customers can get the shake for free by downloading the Whataburger app and creating a rewards account. The shake will be available on Aug. 8 from midnight to 11:59 p.m. while supplies last.
To add to the celebration, Whataburger will commit to donating $74,000 in school supplies to teachers throughout August. On Aug. 8, Whataburger will post a call out on X, formerly known as Twitter, asking its followers to nominate teachers who could use help buying school supplies.
Whataburger will fulfill teachers' wishlists until the $74,000 runs out, according to the release.
