HOUSTON — The James Beard Foundation has announced the semifinalists for its 2024 Restaurants and Chefs Awards and the Houston area is well represented.
The prestigious awards span 22 categories ranging from 'Outstanding Restaurateur' to 'Outstanding Bar.' Here are all the restaurants and chefs from Houston that made the cut:
Outstanding Restaurateur:
- Itai Ben Eli and Itamar Levy, Sof Hospitality Group (Doris Metropolitan, Hamsa, and Bādolina Bakery & Café)
Outstanding Restaurant presented by Acqua Panna Natural Spring Water:
Best New Restaurant (Opened between Oct. 1, 2022 and Sept. 30, 2023):

Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker:

Outstanding Hospitality presented by American Airlines:
Best Chefs presented by Capital One (Texas):
