Molly Bears are only made for parents who have lost a baby.

HOUSTON —

When a child loses a stuffed animal, their little hearts can be broken. But this bear didn’t belong to a child. It’s a Molly Bear, made only for parents who lost a baby.

The bears weigh the same as each infant who passed and are decorated with items chosen by the parents.  A Molly Bear found recently at a Goodwill somewhere in Texas has a Houston Texans logo on its foot.

When a woman spotted the bear, it tugged at her heart, so she bought it for $10.

She later saw the Molly Bear tag, did some research and learned how special they are.

“I don’t know how it ended up donated to Goodwill because only parents can request one,” the woman wrote. “I couldn’t track down the family, but I know the bear’s name is Matthew.”

The woman contacted Molly Bears and they sent a letter to the family’s last known address, but it was returned.

She didn't specify where in Texas she bought the bear.
