Houston animal shelter in urgent need of foster homes for kittens due to sewage emergency

Best Friends in Houston said the kittens need foster homes until December 11.

HOUSTON — A Houston animal shelter is seeking four homes to foster six kittens after an emergency they said was caused by a city sewage line.

Best Friends in Houston said the kittens need foster homes until Dec. 11.

"Fostering is an essential part of the lifesaving process that allows animals to thrive outside of a shelter environment," the shelter said in a news release. "It gives animals an opportunity to learn that people can be kind, food is available, and there is a warm, secure place to sleep. Fostering creates space for another animal in the shelter to have a second chance. Even a space as small as a spare bathroom can give these kittens the opportunity to decompress for the weekend."

There are two pairs of siblings that need foster homes along with two individual kittens.
