MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Several horses are safe Monday after their owner freed them from a burning stable in Montgomery County.
The owner of the stable, who trains horses, said he was alerted to the fire by a neighbor and immediately ran to the barn to free the nine horses that were stuck.
Firefighters were unable to get their truck in the driveway, so they had to drag a hose nearly 500 feet to reach the stable and put out the fire.
Luckily, no horses were injured, but the stable is a complete loss. The owner believes blankets protected them from the intense heat.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
