Houston’s newest luxury high-rise offered potential buyers a peek inside Wednesday night.
Fifteen floors above San Felipe Road near the River Oaks District, champagne bottles popped. People at the Arabella Condos open house stood near windows in awe.
“The views are just spectacular,” said Francesca Piper, a guest. “You can’t beat the views.”
There are 10-foot ceilings, custom kitchens, closets and over 3,200 square feet of space in the condos. When construction is complete, each will have its own private elevator.
“The closets are awesome,” a guest said.
There are “sky pools” on the terraces of 10 penthouses. Children loved it. However, developer Randall Davis and his partners built it for empty-nesters. Homes at Arabella start at $1 million.
“For the younger set, we have another building downtown, the Marlow,” Davis said. “But for the more mature buyer who has some money to spend, this is more where they want to be.”
Mark Duncan of Tanglewood is a buyer. He and his wife raised two sons, retired and are downsizing to a four-bedroom that is under construction for the lifestyle.
“To be able to shut the door and go in where it’s safe is good,” Duncan said. “And the facilities here are excellent.”
The lobby is designed to look like something found in Manhattan or Paris, Davis said. Either way, his new building was a hit with his open house crowd.
