HOUSTON, Texas — It’s hard to believe – the holidays are just around the corner, and that means it’s the start the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
Do you want to give a child or senior what they wished for this holiday? Help rescue Christmas for a family in need by adopting an Angel online.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in our area. COVID-19 has created a bigger need with approximately 155 percent more people requiring Christmas assistance this year.
Generous donors select Angels, purchase gifts in person or online, and return them to The Salvation Army by Dec. 4.
It's an adoption initiative where anyone can adopt an angel, either a child or senior citizen, and help deliver the magic of Christmas to them.
How to adopt an angel
To adopt online, visit virtualangel.org from now until Dec. 4.
Click the gender and age group of the angel you’d like to adopt, and on the next screen, choose your angel.
After that, you’ll be asked to fill out your own information, and then you’ll get an email confirming your angel.
The average amount a donor spends on gifts is $75 per angel, but you can spend whatever you’re comfortable with.
And then, drop off the new, unwrapped gifts at any of the locations listed, or you can even ship them straight to the Salvation Army’s front door.
Every year, the Salvation Army helps bring Christmas joy to over 15,000 angels. This year, with your help, they’ll deliver once again.
