CELORON, N.Y. -- A new Lucille Ball statue has arrived in the famous actor's hometown, replacing the statue known to many as "Scary Lucy."
Sculptor Carolyn Palmer created a new life-size bronze figure of Lucille Ball for the town of Celoron -- Lucy’s hometown.
Lucille Ball is the famous actor who stared in I Love Lucy, a popular sitcom from the 1950s.
Palmer’s sculpture was unveiled at about noon on Saturday, August 6, which would have been Lucy’s 105th birthday. The unveiling came during a public ceremony called Lucy Fest at the Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celoron, NY.
Palmer unanimously won a national competition consisting of over 65 sculptors to create the new Lucy statue.
