Jurassic Quest dinosaurs roar into Houston this weekend at NRG Center

The interactive experience on Dec. 8-10 includes a herd of animatronic dinos – from the largest predators to playful babies – and tons of fun for the whole family.

HOUSTON — North America’s most popular interactive dinosaur experience returns to Houston this weekend with interactive attractions for kids and adults alike.

Jurassic Quest® opens at NRG Center for one weekend only December 8-10.

Its herd of animatronic dinosaurs – from the largest predators to playful baby dinos –  are displayed in realistic scenes, allowing guests to experience them as they were when they roamed Earth millions of years ago. This year, the herd has expanded to include fan favorites, the Utahraptor and Giganotosaurus.

Jurassic Quest also includes some of the largest rideable dinosaurs in North America, live dinosaur shows, interactive science and art activities, a “Triceratots” soft play area for littlest explorers, bounce houses and inflatable attractions, photo opportunities, and more.

New 10th anniversary attractions include kids facing off with the notoriously fast Jurassic Quest Utahraptors for “Raptor Run” races, and “Rope-a-Raptor,” where experienced “Bronto Busters” help kids lasso stray dinos back to their pens.

There's also an expanded Excavation Station and a self-guided scavenger hunt where budding paleontologists can become junior dinosaur trainers.

Jurassic Quest works in collaboration with leading paleontologists to ensure each dinosaur is painstakingly replicated in every detail, from coloration to teeth size, to textured skin, fur or feathers.

More about Jurassic Quest

Houston-based Jurassic Quest® is celebrating 10 years of bringing prehistoric education and fun to families across the continent, and will wrap its anniversary year having welcomed more than 10 million visitors since its inception in 2013.

“It is such an amazing milestone for Jurassic Quest, having entertained, educated, and inspired millions of people in the communities we serve over the past 10 years. Jeff Munn, CEO of Family Quest Entertainment, said. "I am so proud of our personnel that continue putting our guests first in all they do through tireless effort, commitment, and simply having a deep passion for driving the joy and passions of others."

The popular attraction has grown at a dinosaur-sized pace and this is the first year they've operated three touring properties that will reach more than 250 North American cities.

Its successful “Community Quest” efforts have awarded thousands of tickets to 150 organizations whose communities would not be able to access the event otherwise, including nonprofit agencies, children’s hospitals, Boys and Girls Clubs, museums and more.

They've also hosted hundreds of families requiring special needs access.
