Halloween in Houston: A list of family-friendly events

Looking to have a good time with the whole family this Halloween? Look no further.

There are lots of family-friendly events taking place in and around the Houston area.

Here's a list of places you can get spooky with the kiddos:

1. Zoo Boo:

What: All little ghouls and goblins are encouraged to celebrate Halloween at the Houston Zoo with activities that are fun for the entire family. We encourage all kids to come dressed in their spookiest or prettiest Halloween costume, and don’t forget the trick-or-treat bags!

When: Monday, October 31, 2016 - 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

2. Halloween Town:

What: Sugar Land Town Square brings back its favorite Halloween Town. Kids in costume will love jack-o-lanterns, candy stations, and Halloween characters roaming through the area. A free shuttle service will run from Mercer Stadium at 16403 Lexington Blvd.

When: Sunday, October 30, 2016 - 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

3. IGi Halloween Costume Parade

What: It's time for tricks and treats at IGi Playground! There will be a costume parade with a special prize for the Best Costume! Join us for a fun, safe way to celebrate your Halloween! Your kids will have a blast! The first place prize is an IGi Skate, second prize is an IGi T-Shirt and third prize is an IGi Shake bottle. Cost is $7 for children under 2 years old and $15 for children 2 years and older.

When: Monday, October 31, 2016 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

4. Boo on the Boardwalk:

What: Kids can enjoy free trick-or-treating at the retail stores at the Kemah Boardwalk, outdoor movies on Friday nights, kids' activities and more.

When: Sunday, October 31, 2016 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

5. Halloween Carnival:

What: It’s the Deer Park annual Halloween Carnival featuring a pumpkin carving contest, carnival rides, costume contests, and more.

When: Monday, October 31, 2016 - 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

6. Moe's Monster Mash Bash:

What: The Children’s Museum of Houston is hosting a kid-friendly Halloween party, Moe’s Monster Mash Bash. Families can enjoy trick-or-treating, Thriller Dance Party, Monster Mashup, DJ and more. The event is free with museum admission: $12 for kids and adults. Located at 1500 Binz.

When: Monday, October 31, 2016 - 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
