HOUSTON — Employees of Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman's office have had a busy day but it wasn't all about chasing bad guys and solving crimes.
One lieutenant came to the rescue of a dog he spotted in north Houston. Lt. Fragkias scooped up the scared pup from the main lanes of the N. Sam Houston Tollway, west of I-45/North Freeway. The sweet dog looked right at home riding shotgun in his patrol vehicle.
Also Thursday, actor Dennis Quaid dropped by Precinct 4 for a visit. Quaid, 69, is a Houston native who grew up in Bellaire and attended the University of Houston before moving to Hollywood to begin his acting career. He is the younger brother of actor Randy Quaid.
In case you were wondering, it wasn't all fun and games.
Deputies were called to a FedEx Distribution Center on Spring Plaza Dr. where management reported a bunch of marijuana mixed in with a shipment of Mason jars from California. They seized 20 to 30 pounds of weed.
