HOUSTON - Great Day Houston host, Deborah Duncan sat down with Charles Savage, Executive director of the Urban Enrichment Institute and Jordan, a participant of the program. Formerly known as the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program, the Urban Enrichment Institute was created to empower young men in the Houston area who might not have a positive male role model. UEI has many programs that contribute to their holistic approach to youth development. One of these programs is "The School-Based Projects". This project provides site- coordinators to schools who interact with teachers, coordinate after-school activities and act as a mentor to students.
The Urban Enrichment Institute is throwing their Fall Festival tomorrow at the Fifth Ward Multi Service Center.
