HOUSTON — One of Houston's most beloved green spaces, Hermann Park, owes its existence to a generous gift from oilman George Hermann. Over the years, it has evolved into a vibrant cultural hub, offering a variety of attractions for Houstonians and visitors alike.
Today, Hermann Park is home to the renowned Houston Zoo, a public golf course, the iconic Miller Outdoor Theatre, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Nestled within the park is also a serene hideaway—the Japanese Garden, a tranquil spot perfect for reflection and escape.
Great Day's Carlos Hernandez caught up with Cara Lambright, President and CEO of the Hermann Park Conservancy, to explore the beauty of the Japanese Garden and discuss the park's rich history and ongoing preservation efforts.
