Sponsored: World Cultures Teacher, Mrs. Sherrian Houston-Motley, from Smith Middle School receives the Randalls Red Apple Award

Randalls Red Apple Award is gifted to one standout educator in the Greater Houston Area each month within the school year.

We all have that one teacher that lifted us up, inspired us to be something bigger and encouraged us to maybe do what we are doing today. Great Day Houston and Randalls want to reward those unforgettable educators with the Red Apple Award.

The Randalls Red Apple Award for November goes to Mrs. Sherrian "ShaReese" Houston-Motley from Smith Middle School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

After 25 years of working in various fields of employment, she answered her calling to teach in 2015. She's the third generation of her family, with her oldest son recently becoming the 4th generation, called to the profession of teaching.

Mrs. Houston-Motley was nominated by her former student, Conner Barnes. He says she made learning fun, by going above and beyond in her lessons.

Principal, Becky Koop, says Mrs. Houston-Motley builds positive relationships with her students by attending all their extra-curricular activities. From athletic competitions to fine arts performances she is there.
