Autism Dads Social Club was founded in 2022 by three dads with children on the Autism spectrum.
Jonathan Chism, PhD, Emmanuel Arowolo and Jesse Esparza created the club for three reasons:
1. The desire to help dads overcome the feeling of isolation by helping connect them to other supportive dads and families.
2. To facilitate opportunities for their kids on the spectrum to develop social skills and bond with each other as they grow.
3. Aim to help parents and youth embrace, accept, celebrate and be proud of the uniqueness of individuals with autism.
Two years later, and the Autism Dads Social Club has grown from a few families and personal contacts to hundreds of subscribers. They have formed a partnership with the Autism Society of Texas, a 501 C3. Last year, they received their first major partnership with an ABA company, Behavioral Innovations. They sponsored the club's t-shirts and several of their big events. They have also formed partnerships with several other organizations, including We Rock the Spectrum, Grid Iron Sports Bar and Grill, River Pointe Church and Hope for Three.
