Janet Montanez & Chef Stefany Martinez get surprised with a $10,000 check for Mamajuana Cafe

Feed the Soul Foundation awarded Mamajuana Cafe with $10,000 & acceptance into their restaurant business development program.

Mamajuana Cafe concept blossomed in 2006 amidst the vibrant streets of Inwood, New York City, nestled within the heart of a traditionally Dominican neighborhood. Inspired by the enchanting architecture of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, their founders envisioned a culinary journey that harmoniously melds the rich spices and ingredients of old-world Latino traditions with the innovative flair of modern Asian culinary arts.

Since its inception, Mamajuana Cafe has flourished, now boasting 11 thriving locations. Their latest venture in Houston is a testament to their commitment, helmed by a passionate Latino family dedicated to infusing the downtown district with the authentic taste, spirited atmosphere and about vibrant energy of their native lands, all with a contemporary twist.

Feed the Soul Foundation has a mission to dismantle food injustice by working with marginalized entrepreneurs to ensure that local neighborhood restaurants obtain financial assistance, educational training and equitable opportunities.

They support business growth for BIPOC-owned culinary businesses. Their goal is to impact over 50 restaurants nationwide each year.
