HOUSTON — Thanksgiving is just two weeks away, and Houston is set to celebrate in style with the 75th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade, televised live on KHOU 11 at 9am CT! This year's event will be even more special, with Olympic legend Carl Lewis serving as Grand Marshal. Originally from Alabama and raised in New Jersey, Carl came to Houston to run for famed coach Tom Tellez at the University of Houston. Carl Lewis had two dreams: to become famous and to be the fastest man in the world. With multiple Olympic medals, countless records, and a legacy as the fastest and longest-jumping man on the planet, Carl Lewis achieved both.
Carl's commitment to excellence has made both America and Houston proud. Today, he's still in the race—but now he's coaching future stars as head coach of track and field at his alma mater, the University of Houston. This Thanksgiving, watch Carl lead the way in the parade and add "Grand Marshal" to his illustrious resume!
