Celebrate National Tequila Day at Arnaldo Richards' Picos Restaurant

Picos Restaurant is one of Houston's premier Mexican restaurants focusing on the seven regions of Mexican cuisine.

Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Arnaldo Richards comes from three generations of restaurateurs, and it was there that he began his culinary career. By his 14th birthday, he was able to deftly maneuver his way around the kitchen as a promising young cook and embarked upon this journey that would become a lifelong endeavor.

The original Arnaldo Richards' Picos Restaurant opened on Bellaire Boulevard in 1984. 30 years later, in 2014, they moved over to the Upper Kirby District. Now in 2024, they are celebrating their 40th anniversary!

Richards started Picos because of his passion for cooking, and he had the goal of highlighting the seven culinary regions of Mexico.

On National Tequila Day (7/24) they will be hosting an All-Day Happy Hour, specialty flights and tequila samplings.

Dating back to 1989, Picos has been known as "the birthplace of the shaker margarita." They really find that shaking up the margarita, when using the best ingredients, really elevates the taste and the overall experience. Plus, it gives guests a little extra few sips that they appreciate.

They will also have their First Annual Agave Festival on September 14, 2024. That's leading into Hispanic Heritage Month and Mexican Independence Day. Guests can purchase tickets ahead of time or at the door and they'll receive ticket stubs to be used at any of the various tequila and mezcal tasting booths.
