Latin sensation, and ‘Most Wanted’ ‘ artist, Bad Bunny rocks Houston’s Toyota Center after a short break from his last tour stops in World’s Hottest Tour in 2022.
The three time Grammy award winner Bad Bunny, or Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was the first Puerto Rican rapper, singer and song writer to reach number one on the Billboard 200 with his 2020, all Spanish album El Ultimo Tour del Mundo and again with his fourth album Un Verano Sin Ti.
Un Verano Sin Ti quickly earned Bad Bunny a nomination for a Grammy, but as the first Spanish-language album nominated for Album of the Year. In October, he released his newest album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana (Nobody Knows What Will Happen Tomorrow), and soon after announced his 2024 Most Wanted Tour, which I had the pleasure of attending.
I can confidently say I’ve been a fan since 2018 with his first album X 100PRE, which includes hits such as La Romana and MIA ft. Drake. In April of 2019, I had the amazing opportunity to attend his X 100pre Tour stop at Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida. Although the stage was small, Bad Bunny’s stage presence, energy, and the crowd made it all the worthwhile. Now, seeing him again for third time, I was so happy to see how much he’s grown as an artist and in his fan base.
Picture this, a conductor walks the stage, he waves his baton and leads a full orchestra illuminating beautiful melodies that slowly transition to Bad Bunny’s song NADIE SABE. The crowd cheers and Bad Bunny’s voice is the only thing you can hear but he’s nowhere in sight. He elevates from the bottom of the stage and makes his entrance, enticing the audience with the first song of his newest album.
As a Latina, I’ve been to many parties, so believe me when I say Bad Bunny knows how to throw a great party with an amazing light show. He takes it a step a further by providing the audience with a lanyard in the shape of a boot with a built-in light that connects to the show lights, making everyone part of the performance.
One of the highlights of the show was during the song MR. OCTOBER with a surprise appearance of groups of trombonists and violinists, playing their instruments within the audience.
During a short intermission, the audience was presented a video of Bad Bunny dressed in a cowboy outfit with a mask on, on a horse. Soon after, Bad Bunny reappeared wearing a similar outfit and on a live horse, taking him to the second stage for his next performance.
However, the most memorable part of the show was guest appearance from Grupo Frontera to sing their collaborated single, Un X100to, the crowd went wild, as did I. Bad Bunny went on to sing/rap his most famous hits from previous albums causing the crowd to dance throughout the whole night.
A special part of the show was the many interactions he had with the fans. Bad Bunny took the time to acknowledge everyone in the Toyota Center, making sure every single audience member knew just how much he appreciates their dedication, support and love they have for him and his music.
Bad Bunny’s Most Wanted Tour will continue until the end of May for fans still looking to attend one of his shows. If you ever get a chance to see Bad Bunny in concert, without a doubt, do it.
