Because you're never too young to have your own series-length autobiographical for your own biopic.
Lifetime, purveyors of schmaltzy made-for-TV movies and surprisingly good TV series, confirmed they're turning Selena Gomez' life story into a scripted series, reports EW.
Gomez will executive-produce the series, which follows her rise to fame as a Disney Channel actress-turned-pop star — following in the steps of Nicki Minaj, who's currently producing a comedy about her childhood on Freeform (formerly ABC Family). Kevin Spacey also signed on to executive-produce Gomez' forthcoming series.
Now, the real questions: Which lucky actress will get to play Gomez, and who will portray the many other young celebs she's grown up with over the years, from her Disney days (Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, the Jonas Brothers) through her #squad membership (Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner)? And how will the series dramatize the greatest romance of the 21st century, the millennial generation's Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor: Jelena?
The untitled series is still in its early stages, so stay tuned for more.
