HOUSTON -- Texas country music star Pat Green performed Thursday evening at Cactus Music in the last of a seven-city, one-week tour promoting his new album "Home."

The "Wave on Wave" singer performed several new songs from the album released Aug. 14, including "Girls from Texas" and "Right Now," which Green says he wrote about his wife, Kori. Green played old favorites, too, and made a reference to Houston during "Wave on Wave," singing: "You're the reason I'm still here, like the Astrodome."

Green said on stage that Houston was the "rowdiest crowd" on his mini tour that included stops in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas.

Angela Zepeda, a longtime Green fan, said his performance was one of the most memorable in the 11 years she has attended his shows.

"The show was pretty awesome," Zepeda said. "I love the new album, and like he says: Girls from Texas really are better."

Green stayed at Cactus Music after the show to sign autographs and take photos with each fan.
