HOUSTON — Just a week after Beyoncé made Billboard chart history, Queen Bey is back at it again!
The Grammy-award winning singer's track "Texas Hold 'Em" rose to a new peak of No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a week after it debuted at No. 2, according to Billboard.
This makes Beyoncé the first Black woman artist in history to top the Hot 100 chart with a country song.
Last week, the Houston native made her first-ever appearance on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart at No. 1, making her the first Black woman artist to do so, according to Billboard.
"Texas Hold 'Em" is Beyoncé's 9th No. 1 single as a solo artist and her first since first since “Break My Soul” in 2022 from her 7th studio album "Renaissance."
Along with "Texas Hold 'Em," Beyoncé also released "16 Carriages" on Feb. 11. The songs were announced via a Verizon commercial that aired during the Super Bowl.
The commercial ended with the superstar saying “They ready, drop the new music,” the question became — was she serious? Later, a cryptic Instagram video with country iconography appeared on her page, teasing “act ii” on March 29. (Beyoncé’s 2022 album “Renaissance” is frequently referred to as “Act I: Renaissance.”)
