Duchess Kate issued a statement apologizing for missing a public engagement today for one of her charities.
This comes after a flurry of reports in the British press about how she was feeling better from her acute morning sickness and was ready to resume public duties this month.
She was supposed to help inaugurate a new Art Room at a primary school, under the auspices of her charity to built art-therapy facilities for children in need.
"I am truly sorry that I cannot be with you all today as you celebrate this milestone," her statement read. "As Patron of The Art Room I feel great pride to see the work that the charity is doing. Vulnerable children flourish in the safe havens that The Art Room provides; this highlights just how important it is to support children at a time when they most need help and support."
Pregnant with her second child, Kate has not been seen in public since early August when she visited the Tower of London with husband Prince William and Prince Harry to inspect an art installation commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI.
She had to cancel her first overseas tour, a quick trip to Malta to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its independence from Britain, last month, with Will stepping in as a substitute.
She is due sometime in the spring. The latest obsession of the British media about the pregnancy is that idea she might be carrying twins, based on nothing more than the number of bets placed.
