HOUSTON — Troy Kless is an Emmy Award-winning multiskilled journalist for KHOU. He joined the KHOU team in July 2023.
Although he was born in New Jersey and lived in Florida most of his life, he loves Texas!
Since Troy was in his high school TV Production class, he always wanted to be a reporter. He followed that passion and graduated from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a major in Radio-Television and minor in Sports Business Management.
Troy has been a part of the TEGNA family since starting his TV career at KBMT/KJAC in Beaumont. He moved back to his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, to work for WTLV/WJXX, worked for KENS in San Antonio, TX, before coming to Houston.
Troy has covered several big stories, including the Robb Elementary shooting, Pulse Nightclub shooting, Hurricane Harvey, the death of Ahmaud Arbery and several others. He is confident and passionate in telling all kinds of stories.
Outside of work, Troy loves to play video games, relax with his wife Hayley and their three cats, play golf (horribly), eat Tex-Mex, and watch sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys!
