The second day of spring feels like a hard winter across the East Coast.
The northeast region is getting its fourth nor’easter in three weeks, causing thousands of flights to be canceled across the nation, including at Houston’s Bush Airport.
Mother Nature once again swept through the northeast, bringing with her a wintry mess.
From heavy snow to strong winds, the blizzard-like conditions wreaked havoc everywhere, including major airports.
On Wednesday at Houston’s Bush Airport, we found travelers stuck in limbo like John Vargo, who was headed to Virginia.
Houston was supposed to be his connecting flight, but the storm canceled his plans.
“I’m annoyed, but there’s nothing they can really do. They’ve got to make sure everyone’s safe, so it’s really the best way for it,” Vargo said.
Others like Ahmad Kamal, who was on his way to New York to get home to Cairo, looking for alternatives, and losing some major sleep in the process.
“Almost I didn’t sleep since yesterday, so I’m trying to make it. And I know it’s a storm, but at the same time, there are really no alternatives so, right now, I’m just trying to make it happen,” Kamal said.
Most folks, at least at Bush, were staying positive, despite the cancelations.
“It’s a little bit of a hassle, but what can you do?" Vargo said.
If your flight was canceled, some advice from travel experts include making sure you check your travel schedules before you leave. Also airlines like United offer travel waivers, so be sure to check that out and see if it works for you.
